Friedreich’s
Ataxia
Rehabilitation Management
Review (RMR)
The Friedreich’s
Ataxia – Rehabilitation Management Review (RMR)
published by ‘Regeneration’ provides
a unique, well referenced source of information to all
Health and Social Care professionals involved in rehabilitation
who are working with people and families affected by
Friedreich’s Ataxia. We also hope that the ‘RMR’
will be of interest to people and families, keeping
readers updated with the very latest news on all matters
relating to rehabilitation management in Friedreich’s
ataxia including news on research developments.
The ‘RMR’ is seeking
to do more than simply inform on current practice. It
is intended that the ‘RMR’ will act as a
central focal point for rehabilitation management and
care in Friedreich’s ataxia (FRDA), through the
publication of clinical reviews, peer-reviewed articles
from a range of disciplines, case studies, as well as
publishing results of research studies, and reports
and open correspondence from care professionals and
people and families affected by FRDA. The RMR will also
focus directly on:-
- Promoting the field of
rehabilitation management in FRDA.
- Creating an awareness of
the multidisciplinary and multi-agency issues involved
in FRDA management, and of the impact that FRDA can
have on people’s lives.
- Providing a forum to pool
and discuss new ideas and information relating to
all aspects of rehabilitation management.
- Promoting research into
FRDA rehabilitation management and creating a climate
whereby, researchers, care professionals and students
have an opportunity and a platform to expose their
work and the results of their studies.
- Encouraging communication
and collaboration and the sharing of ideas between
care professionals, people and families and support
organisations.
- Providing an accessible
link between members of the care professions, people
and families affected by FRDA , carers and Regeneration.
- Creating a framework that
encourages equal opportunities for patients, families,
carers, support organisations and care professionals
to contribute and influence the development of appropriate
FRDA management as well as the delivery of care and
support services.
The principle mission of the ‘RMR’
is to advance knowledge of Friedreich’s Ataxia
and of all the issues relating to the rehabilitation
management of the disorder. Above all, the ‘Friedreich’s
Ataxia – RMR’ will focus always on the interests
of people and families affected by FRDA and will strive
continuously to help develop and improve rehabilitation
care and services.
The Friedreich’s
Ataxia – Rehabilitation Management Review
welcomes your contributions and ideas for articles to
be published. The ‘RMR’ can only grow and
develop with your help. We welcome letters, articles
and other contributions relating to all aspects of rehabilitation
management and care in FRDA.
